Default Does the idle adjuster have an affect on the computer?

My car is stuck in open loop mode. It's backfiring and I have changed everything. I mean everything. Well a few weaks ago I messed with this idle screw on the throttle body because I wanted to lower my idle a little bit. My car was tunned to idle at 1050 rpms because of the cam.(.584 lift") It doesnt make very good vacume to it's necessary to bring the idle up to make more vacume for my breaks. I brought the screw on a little bit and the idle cam dow to were i wanted it but then it went right back up.....? any ideas? Could this be the problem? I am backfiring and no power at all.

Default

The idle screw itself does not affect the computer, although the IAC (Idle Air Control) Valve will, the wierd looking thing underneath the throttle body. I would try just resetting the computer then taking it from there. Let me know what happens.
