Default cam

im gonna cam my car soon im gonna get the LT4 hotcam or something able to pass smog but bigger than the LT4 hc.

besides taking the waterpump, opti, timing cover, etc off, what would i need to take off with them?

do i need to put the cam in a certain way? or just in slowly while rotating so i dont hit the bearings. im at 148k and the engine runs strong. i dont plan on doing the cam bearings.

im gonna get a spring compressor to change the springs, how do they work? you set the bottom arms up in the exhaust ports for leverage?

the compressor you are talking about is a pos it wouldnt even work on my springs and the heads were out of the car...i would find the one that a guy makes off of here and sells and it screws into the guide stud holes...now if you take the heads off and you get an air powered one like i have its a cinch

and your going to have to take your radiator out and you might have to take out your ac condensor im not completely positive

Just be gentle and careful when putting the Camshaft in the Motor. The Condensor is easy to put back into place, you will just have to get the AC re-charged after.

Put the Dots touching each other when you put on the Timing Set. That will be #6 TDC.
