Default Alternator repair kit?

I currently have a bad alternator, It works fine but makes a horrible noise on cold start up and improves as the car warms up. The voltage output is fine until I take it up to high rpms 4500+ then it cuts out and everything dims until i let off or it shifts. The noise sounds like bad bearings and I found a repair kit which inlcudes Voltage Regulator, Brush Holder with Brushes, Bearing Drive/End, Rectifier, and (SRE) Bearing. Will this cover it or might it be totally screwed up? I really cant pull the alternator until I have a new one or the repair kit cuz I cant have the car down for any perios of time. Anyone rebuilt one before?

i have the same exact problem.

$150 for a reman one is too pricey.

im just gonna have this one rebuilt either by myself or an alternator/starter shop.

If you can't afford to have the car down, my advice is to spend the money and get a new GM unit - friend of mine went through a couple "rebuilt" ones from parts stores and still didn't work right. JMO
