Default Quick 700r4 ?'s

First off only reason I am voicing this ? is because I have a 700r4 sitting in my garage.

1) Will it bolt up to an LS1?

2) Can it be built to handle any sort of significant power or is it worse than a 4l60e?

3) I am running a carb'd setup so will this also need special electronics to make it shift? If so we can throw this whole thread out the window lol

You're gonna get flamed bad for this but I'm gonna try and curb it, lol. Everything you ask about is already covered somewhere else and has been many times. But to answer your questions, yes it will bolt up but the bolt patterns are different. I think one hole will not be used, but not sure cuz I haven't ever seen a 700r4 bolted to an LS1. Same concept as the other TH trannies. 700r4 is the same thing as the 4l60e with the only difference being electronic shift on the E so you have gained nothing in the longevity dept. You will need an aftermarket lockup controller for the 700r4. If choose not to run the lockup you will need the trans built for full lube or you will burn it up fast cuz there will be so much slippage. I have run a non lockup 700r4 and I feel like I lost a ton of top end due to slip. For example, I ran an 11.34 as stated in my sig but my trap speed was only 115. I probably could have hit 10's had I had a lockup verter.

Cool... I'll just sell it then. It's taking up space.
