Pics of my rollbar...
Well, it's not installed yet but it's that much closer... The design is LG Motorsports:
No, I didn't pay the inflated price of $725 it would have cost for a new one here: rollbar (although I think it is not soley their design and may be sold other places, I don't know, I never saw it untill I picked it up, saw it was a different design than I had ever seen and I started researching it)...
I got it from a local board member, XpEdItIoUs, pretty cheap because it was sitting in his parents back yard for awhile... Here's a couple of the pics from the sale:
It had been painted white to match his car but was rusted on about 30%-40% of it's surface (not visible in the pics, probably taken earlier, regardless it got more rusted simply because I left it outside as well)...
SO, a lot of sanding, prepping and painting later, here she is:
I have to thank XpEdItIoUs for the AMAZING deal he gave me on this rollbar... Put it this way, I almost have more money in paint and materials then what he charged me for it, GREAT GUY!!!
I may give her another coat to be safe but regardless I hope to install her next weekend before the wife and I leave for Thanksgiving... I'll update this thread with new pics when I take them.
I painted it low-gloss/satin black like the ones in the ZL1 and Dick Harrel cars... I also LIKE the fact it is a 4pt. and I can still fold down the back seats with the center bar removed...
I got it mainly so I can add racing harnesses when I get my Arizen seats and for a little more structural rigidity in the corners (not really a drag racing car as I have full corner carving suspension setup).
And to be honest, regardless of the crap I may get for it, I just think it looks mean as hell ! The car will be getting an M4 cam and CNC ported LS6 cylinder heads next to back up the look though...
It's going in this car for those of you who don't know what I drive:
What do you guys think so far?
