Default wastegate springs- need more boost

hey yall im looking for some more boost- i was wondering- my turbonetics 38mm evolution wastegate comes with 3 springs and some shims-

can i put to springs in together to make 12psi- i got the 8 psi spring in right now can i put the 4psi and 8psi spring into together? or should i just stack the shims

do the shims just add 1psi each?

Have you considered a boost controller?

Some gates you can add the springs to make a larger force. However, i would get a boost controller so you can dial in the accurate boost, and if the controller features over-boost then it can compensate for boost spikes. Turbosmart and AEM make great boost controllers, im not a fan of the greddy stuff.

very true, however a properly sized and sprung wastegate is probably the most reliable setup you can get.
