Don't try this at home (or at the track)

PS I hardly did a burnout thinking the tires would spin a bit allowing me to launch ~3500rpm, guess I was wrong

Damn, I guess I'll keep the aluminum D/S for D/D status and get a nice steel one for track use if I ever tack it to the track. Or is this only a probelm because of the MTs?

Thanks guys. I was lucky that a couple local guys (from the board) had a steel driveshaft in my ride within 1/2 hr. I did manage to run an 11.47 @124mph taking it easy. I broke the front yoke on the steel one on my last pass.

If you have a stock d/s and are making ~450+ to the wheels I highly recommend to invest in a good steel d/s with good yokes etc.

I have an OEM aluminum with upgraded heavy duty unjoints (1350 int he rear). The guy at the DS shop said the the tube would twist before the yokes ever would. I still think I should get a heavier duty drive shaft

Here's my experience:

- I broke the rear yoke (stock) trying to launch on the street @ 3.5k
- I twisted the stock driveshaft in 2 pieces at the track @ 3.5k
- I broke a front yoke with a steel driveshaft @ 4k

Needless to say after it broke once I had a BMR d/s loop installed

I had them (Stage III's) flowed independantly and were pretty healthy peaking 330cfm @ .600 and retained 325cfm @ .650 lift. For the money and power I couldn't be happier!
