Convertible Vehicles - Top coming up slower....

Just noticed it today that the top is taking a lot longer to come back down to get locked up on the top of the windshield. Anything I can do to keep the life goin on it?

Make sure the top pump is full of fluid, these pump systems are notorious for leaking. Last I heard, GM recommends "mineral oil" for fill. Pump is located on driver's side behind the rear wheel well in the trunk (under carpet). Once you top off fluid, you may need to cycle the top once or twice to purge the air, then top-off fluid again (the pump has LOW and FULL marks on the resivoir).

When mine was slow it was because I did not have the car turned on.

Turn the valve to manual operation. Manually lower and raise the top a couple of times to equalize both sides. Turn back and try it out with the switch.
