Default A/C Delete... Do I need this Part?

This shroud that goes in front of the Condensor. There's nothing to attatch it to the radiator. What about the rest of the plastic air dam stuff there, can I remove it as well? Or will it effect my cooling?

As far as the delete, it was easy. About an hour worth of work. I removed everything except for the evaporator. Brackets and all.

It was gonna cost me $870 to get it fixed. So I said fk it... Weight reduction. I've lived here over a year and I can handle the heat. AC= windows and 65mph...It hasn't worked in years. Pluss if I REALLY want it back I can reinstall it and take it to the dealer to have them pull a vaccuum to find leaks, fix and recharge it.

^^blkbird is from TX and living w/o AC..

As far as the walk thru.. it's easy.. make sure the system is completely bled down first. Mine was bone dry. I tapped the low side shrader valve and there was nada.. I just wing'd it. Just look and start unbolting stuff.. that's all it is.

1- Disconnect the airbox lid and basically anything that goes up to the throttle body.

1.5- Remove the belt. 15mm fits the tensioners. You'll have to egt the main belt out of the way first. Than the A/C belt.

2- 4 10mm bolts hold the rad support on... disconnect it.

2.5- Manage to fenagle the plasic shroud out of the way. (you'll have to slightly push the radiator back)

3- one 10mm bolt on the high side connection to the condensor (front)

4- 2 14mm bolts hold the high and low connections to the evaporator ports. (pass side going into the car) Disconnect low pressure cut off switch before you CAN remove the line.

5- reciever/dryer canister is held in place by a bracket. One 10mm bolt to loosten it.

6- go underneath- unbolt one 13mm (I think) bolt that holds both lines to the back of the pump. (lines will not come out yet)

7- 4 15mm bolts hold the pump in place. Unclip the clutch electric line first, or after the pump is loose. (I did this on the ground w/o jack stand, or ramps, so I had to wait till the pump was loose) Disconnect the pump and it slides out.

8- one 14mm bolt that holds the bottom line to the condensor. disconnect it and NOW the lines will come out.

9- 4 15mm bolts hold the pump bracket in place. -Disconnect it and it slides out.

Voila!... it out. Just bolt the radiator support back up, and put the lid, MAF and bellows back on... and don't forget to plug the sonsors back in. The reciever/dryer canister bracket is held in by a TX bit. I am unsure of the size, but I managed to get it out with an allen wrench.

The circled piece is for the ASR and cruise control.

I removed my A/C long ago. I left that shroud in. Helps direct air to the radiator.

Sounds good. I would do the same then. I live in the Mojave Desert in CA, and I don't think I could live without AC for now. Maybe when I get to Atlanta.

Possible to remove that system without tripping a code? Im going to a 9" without ABS or ASR.
