Harness/seat mounting questions > Madman
Im either buying a set of Momo Fiberglass or Kirky Aluminum Seats. I already have a 5pt V type harness.
I know aftermarket seats are supposed to be mounted to the cross-bar, but how should I do it? Or not do it?
Im going to weld a tab to the cross-bar for the shoulder straps.. Any particular thickness or size that the must be?
Can I bolt the lap belts to the original seatbelt mounting bolts?
If not, how should they be mounted?
Im fabbing my own bar for the sub strap to wrap around.
BTW, this is a 8pt bar setup.
Thanks in advance

I use a piece of 1" tubing with at least a 4" x4" plate welded to the tube. The plate bolts to the seat. I use 3/8 button head bolts on the seat so your back doesnt rub them. The plate I use is .090 chromemoly.
All my tabs are made out of .090 chromemoly. You could use 1/8th plate.
The lap belts can bolt to the stock holes no problem.

Madman-
I was reading through tech stuff off of RCI's website and stumbled across this illustration...
Wouldnt the illustration on the bottom right be like mounting to the stock seatbelt locations?
