Runs Crappy after Headers! HELP!!!!
ok, i put my longtubes on and after about 100 miles or so the car started the run really shity. When the car is cold, it runs pretty good, but after its been warmed up the car starts to hesitate under acceleration and when cruising at 60 whith the cruise set it feels like a constant throbbing back and forth in the engine, its kind of hard to explain. Also when i floored it one time it puffed out a big puff of black smoke out of the exhaust. I checked the plug wires, egr, and everything is ok. I just put in a new opti and igition module about 2 months ago and a new tranny 1/2 ago and the o2 sensors seem it to be working too because i had a shop scan the computer. Anybody have this problem or have any ideas before i take it to a shop to have them look at it? Thanks for your help

I'd guess you have a bad air leak and your O2 sensors are reading it and it's shoving fuel in like crazy to compensate when you go closed loop. Have you got a scanner so you can see what your BLM's are?

tonight i pulled some spark plugs and they were burnt black. Must be getting to much fuel for some reason or i may have to get some better spark plugs rather than the platinum autolites that i have

Yeah iam thinking o2's aswell. Mine was doing the same thing except for the smoke and come to find out one spark plug was lose and 3 wires were burnt. I found that out after changing back to manifold and it still run fast on 5 cylinders.
