Venting fuel pressure
Ok, i'm changing the fuel filter. Is the schraeder valve that i'm supposed to release the pressure from the green capped one on top if the fuel line? It's the only one I saw, but no fuel/pressure came out of it.

Also, it was marked Evap service point. I just wanna make sure I vented the system properly, so as not to blow myself up. Also, I got no hiss from the fuel cap, the car was cold, so I figure there might not have been too much fuel in the lines.

Yep, I figured it out after I took my chances and removed the rear fuel line from the filter, spilling gobs of the precious 93 octane into my catch pan. But now I found the scraeder valve on the rail. I'm putting off the filter change now until a sunny day. It's pouring buckets outside so I had the car halfway in the garage. I'll just wait till next week when I have more optimal conditions. Also, is it normal for the filter to creak and make noise when I go to take the metal fuel line off?

No matter what you do, some fuel will spill out when you change the filter. 3-6 ounces would be about normal. I have never released pressure at the rail, but I've never changed the filter just after running the motor either.

I dunno how necessary venting is, but I have to run the motor to get my car onto the rhino ramps. It was apparent that the fuel had no intention of stopping, so I quickly put the fuel line back into place.

We change filters all the time when customers come it for oil changes....I never relieve pressure, I just wrap a towel around the fitting, loosen, and wait for it to stop leaking. It will stop, sometimes it take 5-10 seconds or so. If you want to lose minimal fuel, then its best to de-pressurize the system at the rail, then proceed to removing the filter. Granted you de-pressurized it, you still may get a small amount of fuel spray out if the engine is still warm. If its cold you should be fine.
