hey i was just wondering if any one had had this problem. i put the headers on (they are flp longtubes) everything looked good until i was putting the oil filter back on and noticed that the collector is actually about 1/2 in from the drain plug. can i just get a shorter on after i take the header lose. does anyone know if someone sells one for this reason or can i go the local hardware store and pick one up after i get it out???

Is it actually hitting the drain plug? or just close b/c if its just close I wouldnt worry about it, my headers put the pipes closer to the drain plug and its not a big deal

As soon as I read the title I knew what headers you had. My drain plug is about that far away from the headers too. It comes out fine, but when I drain the oil I use a piece of cardboard to deflect the oil into the drain bucket.

Are you saying the drain plug won't come out without loosening the headers?

see mine wont actually come out it is about a 1/4" from being able to come out.

I knew what headers you had too. I've read where people grinded the drain plug down with a dremel enough where they could get it out.

I use a "cheater bar" to pry my headers over just enough to let the plug come out. There is just enough play in the headers. Loosen the plug until you can use your fingers on it, then utilize the bar. A little more complicated to get it back in by yourself with just two hands, but it will work. I've done it a number of times.

I guess i'm one of the lucky ones, seeing as I can get mine out without the cheater bar. I don't see why you can't find a shorter drain plug with a magnet on the end. I've seen those before, like on my Canton oil pan.

I have the FLP headers also. I just changed the oil and all I need to do is push on the CAT/offroad pipe with my left hand can while I pull the drain plug out with the right. Same with putting it back in. Not really a major issue

Man that is some **** engineering for a not so cheap price. It would have been easy to make them where they'd clear the drain plug
