Depends on your definition of "streetable". I street a 224/230 with a 4l60 and 3800 stall.

It is mild. I have a 244/248 that is not so mild as well that I street everyday as well.
I would think that you could run a 230/232 cam no problem with that stall converter.

It is probably not the greatest at low rpm's but it will work fine for what you want to do with it.

Valvetrain:
Pushrods (hardened/chromoly)

Comp Cams 918 Springs or Dual springs, but they are really not needed for that cam.

Since you have a 99 I would suggest doing the LS6 oil pump and probably an LS2 timing chain. You really don't need a double roller timing set. I have done a double roller on mine before an it hasn't given me a clearance issue or any other problems yet.

Possibly retainers even though your stockers will work on the 918 springs. I run a set of Titanium retainers on both of my LS1's.
Check your Cam bearings since you are going to be right there as well before you stab in the new cam.

That is all I can think of at the moment...

Maybe give Patriot's 226/226 .585 lift on 112lsa a try. It would be hard to beat if you are on a budget since it is $279.50 new. Then get some 918's (~$150), hardened pushrods (~$75 off the board), ls6 oil pump (<$80 new from SDPC), and ls2 chain ($30 off the board), pulley bolt, and gaskets (cheap). This should have you set for a budget priced cam upgrade. All of that totals about $650 and you should be in good shape.

+~400$ for a tune.

Tune is the most important part. Budget around 1200$ for a "low-budget" cam install. Its always going to cost more than you think.

You will have to provide much more information than just lift. Yes, with with the correct duration it will clear. Check out Thunder Racings TRak cam with 644 lift.
