Default That missing mystery panel I've been looking for...

Well since my other thread literally VANISHED, I'll start another

I got my digi-cam back and snapped a pic, so here's the hole I need to fill with whatever panel goes there.

Look like somebody cut a hole for a Subthump/MTX Thunderform box or something. Is is the drivers side panel in the rear?

That does look like the driver's side rear. That is where the CD changer goes if you have one. Otherwise, it is covered in carpet.

Hmm... well craptastic! Whats that plastic peice in there and that bolt sticking out for? I thought it was to hold the Jack :\ The plastic peice is hollow.

I need to get door weather stripping, guess I might as well get new rear-carpet :\

The Monsoon amp is on the passenger side, the cd changer is right there...if you have one. Check around on the "For Sale" section for cars being parted out. That's the only way I got the molded carpet.

I'd say that the bolt is holding a bracket onto the car where the rear bumper cover attaches on.

As far as the plastic piece, I'm not exactly sure...I'll have to think on that one. Maybe the molded carpet panel attaches to it in some way?

Part number 14099514 "Trim, Rear compartment side". Same part number for all 93 through 02 Firebirds. It's only $10 from gmpartsdirect.

There is a molded piece of carpet that fits in there like everyone else said. I removed it when I put the stealthbox in mine.

The bolt sticking up is for the CD changer if it came with one stock. It's actually welded to the body before paint...

Did your car have a Bose stereo from the factory? My 94 Z did. It was where the Bose plastic sub woofer box was located. I had the same hole when I removed it to upgrade my stereo.

'No highs, no low...then it must be Bose."

Mine was in this forum, and to my knowledge wasn't inappropriate . . .

Anyways, no I don't think Bose system was 10 speaker in 'Bird OR Camaros, and mines a 10 speaker.
