Default crankshaft position sensor

I've been having problems for months now and just found some threads that describe my problem perfectly. It seems I need a new crankshaft position sensor. Where is it located on the block? I want to try this right now!

It's on bottom passenger side of the block, at the back. You need to remove the starter in order to get access to it. Remember if you replace the sensor you need to do a crank position sensor re-learn with a Tech 2 or some tuning software to make sure the timing is right.

Hehe, my friend unplugged one and the SES came on and the vehicle turned over a good bit but nothing started, lol. Guy had a habit of leaving church early and the resident mechanic put a stop to it that day (1500 V6 truck).

How do you know it is bad. The headers on my car melted the wires that went to the sensor. Thought mine was bad but I had to run new wires to it. Just a thought.
