Default New urethane trans mount - big vibration at 45 mph

I installed an Prothane transmission mount on my 2000 z28/4l60e and at 45-50 mph the area around the shifter and center console sounds like it's going to vibrate apart. Any suggestions of where to look?

I believe this is common with a new poly mount....mine did it as well. I was told to expect it and that it would settle down as the mount broke in. My vibration went away after a few hundred miles. I'd give it some time and then look further if it keeps vibrating.

Thanks - I have heard from one reliable source that the plate behind the mount raises the mount ~ 3/8" and dis-orients the transmission? Reliable comment?

Most people, including me install them without the spacer plate.
Some people use the spacer but shave down the bumps.

Because of the effects I seem to notice?? Or something else?

Ah...the old poly tranny mount vibration. There used to be a ton of posts about this subject. My car is an A4 so keep that in mind. On some cars the vibration goes away and on some it doesn't. I installed mine with the plate and got bad vibration. Took the plate off and ground/cut the bumps down which helped but it still never went away completely. After driving around for 5,000 miles on it I finally threw in the towel and bought a factory OEM rubber mount. Vibration went away immediately. I used an energy suspensions mount. I will never do that again!! ALOT of other people have had the exact same thing using that type of mount! Good luck!!

Put mine on without the plate and without grinding down the bumps, and it broke itself in in about 100 miles. No vibration here, 'cept for from the out of balance tires....
