Default How Did You Obtain your Desired Compression?

Just trying to get a nice little information thread going on ways to seek SCR.

So, what steps did you take to acheive a boost ready SCR? What was that SCR? What were the goals for that desired SCR?

Some things to list:

Heads
Pistons
Gaskets
Power Adder

And Last your location!

Tony.

Big(ger) chambered ported factory heads
-cc pistons (this is the variable changed to get my desired CR but I forget the dish volume)
GM MLS head gasket
single front-mount P76GTS turbo

I'm at about 8.6:1. My goal for this setup is 700RWHP on pump gas and methanol with the M6 before moving to the th400. I used an online calculator like this one to figure SCR: http://www.csgnetwork.com/compcalc.html

First selected the desired heads. Then based on the chamber volume, ordered dish pistons with the corresponding volume to meet the end static compression ration.

74cd TEA Stage III 317 heads, -15cc diamond pistons, 402 stroker, yeilds a 9.2:1 static compression ratio.

Pretty much stock sized chambers ( as Edelbrock supply/CNC them at 67cc ), stock GM MLS gaskets. Mine is pretty much all in the piston dish. -25cc
