Exclamation All About Engine Oil~!!

oil is oil is oil is oil.... nuff said

whatz up with all these ****** oil threads.. use ANY engine oil from 0w-30 to 15w-40... synthetic or not. it will NOT HARM YOUR ENGINE~!!! best way is to do an oil analysis "test" and they already ****** did it and result seems like GC 0w-30 is the best.

www.bobistheoilguy.com

if you dont like it then use something different but oil is oil. ls1 will ALWAYS BURN OIL and make noises. just cuz you reduce the engine noise doesnt mean itz not hurting the motor or vice versa. if your car burns lots of oil then do a leak down test or add a catch can or do a PCV delete or go buy a new car.

~just do make sure your not running too low in your engine. Check you oil level every other day. if itz low then add it. do a frequent oil changes.
these procedure will keep you engine running healthy.

vent off.

Now that we've got that cleared up, maybe we can put a stop to all the "Is an SS really faster than a Z28?" threads.

I get sick of people who think that an SS is vastly better than a non-SLP car especially if they didn't actually order the performance options.

i switched to GC and when the oil is new theres a lot more knock, but once i get a few miles on the oil all of the knock goes away and runs completely quiet and smooth....

Not all LS1s burn it. My '98 uses none, or at least nothing noticeable on the dipstick between changes.

My '00 burned a lot of oil, but not until after the cam went in.
