I have also found that the factory blocks are not even close to the correct deck height. 9.025" is supposed to be the GM spec for the deck height. I have found on a problem LT1 block, the main cause for the customers problem. The deck height on the driver's side (cylinder's 1,3,5,7) measured 9.027" on #1 and 9.038" on # 7. He kept blowing the head gasket between cylinder's 5 and 7. The passenger side was off as well, but not as bad (cylinder's 2,4,6,8) 9.028" on # 2 and 9.030" on # 8. Decking your block is very important if you are rebuilding your engine.

makes some sence b/c im blew between 5 & 7. THe only thing im curious about is: the motor shut off I didnt know anything was wrong b/c no sounds and no loss in power. It just shut off and wouldnt crank back. And smoke white smoke was still coming out of the exhaust after it shut off. So is my motor completely trashed or what? B/c I need it to last a few more months till i finish the new motor on the stand.

I haven't seen one just shut off due to a blown head gasket. I would start looking into why it shut down. I would first check the oil to see if there is antifreese in the pan, when you pull the dipstick it would be milky white. If that is ok then I would check for spark. If you have spark then I would check for fuel from the injector's. If there is antifreese in the oil pan then I wouldn't try to run the car until you have pulled the oil pan off to check your rod bearings. If thet are ok then I would clean the pan and reinstall it. After that then I would say for now put some new head gaskets on and be very nice and gentle with your car until your new motor is finished.
