Default odd issue

When I floor my car sometimes it feels as though a switch is flicked in the car switching it from slow to fast. As stupid as it sounds I'm not kidding, for example if I floor the car in 2nd or 3rd, it'll take off alright, then a half second later feel like something just clicked and it picks up quicker... Maybe I'm losing my mind, but it almost feels like a weak misfire that cleans itself up. Any thoughts? Plugs are TR55s and wires are... stock They are coming over winter break...

How many miles on the plugs? Using decent gas, 91+ octane?

93 all the time, plugs were changed with headers about 5 months ago, so 5k miles or so.

Maybe it's just a loose plug or wire.

This might be dumb for even bringing it up, but do you have the traction control on some times and not others when you are noticing the differences?

My car doesn't even have traction control to begin with, but that's not such a bad point (if I had TC)

Clutch slips from the torque in the lower RPMs!

Just a guess

Others have said the same thing... Ive noticed it in first, (for example when pulling onto a road and very slowly increasing the rpms it will just kinda jump as if you floored it...) - kind of like hitting the powerband.
