Ebay Headers - Please Read

Ebay Headers - Please Read
Lately, there have been quite a few threads about "Ebay Headers" here. While we do not have a problem with you guys talking about LS1 modifications, we do have a problem with these few things:
1. Posting links to non-sponsor sales, ads, or websites.
2. Posting pricing, or pricing comparisons vs LS1TECH Sponsors.
3. Posting about availability, or soliciting Ebay headers.
4. Comparisons with LS1TECH sponsor sold headers.
Keep in mind that this is a technical discussion forum. The sponsors here keep this site running and available to you guys. Sales generated at ebay do not. We do not have a problem with you guys discussing technical things related to these headers, such as:
-Installation/Fitment
-Before/After gains at the dyno or track
But, please do not start or reply in threads comparing them to sponsor sold products. Those will no longer be tolerated. Any threads that have evidence of the above statements, whether the original poster made them or someone replying made them, will be removed. Keep things technical, and not related to sales, and it can remain.
Thanks

You can simply state things like "I gained 15 rwhp". Let everyone else figure out their own comparisons. Headers aren't magical, we all know the typical gains. We just do not want direct comparisons with some ebay sale here. If you don't support the vendors here, this site wouldn't exist.

That's what she said...

There's really nothing to debate here people. The only reason this site is around is because of our sponsors. Don't bite the hand that feeds. Tony laid out plenty of opportunities to discuss the headers, and their qualities, but just doesn't want things to pop up like:
"Why get Kooks when you can get XXX for less money". This kind of derails profits from the hands of our sponsors. There are TONS of companies out there who sell things and don't sponsor our boards, we aren't just singling out these Ebay headers.
I'd make this a sticky, but nobody would read it.

Guys, I know that everyone likes to get on here and talk about all the mods they have and all the prices and power gains from each one to obtain 4XX rwhp. Anyway...
There is a button that looks like this which is the "report this post" function on every single post. If you see, or feel that there is any non-sponsor related info that Tony has described in the first post that needs attention... Please feel free to use this function. It will send an email to all moderators of the forum about that particular post in question. I take the time to go and read them so do not abuse this function.
Thanks

eBay has its own section for resolution but you don't have Admin and Moderators to help out.
What many members do not know are what goes on out of open forum - phone calls, email, pm, face to face to the sponsor(s) and getting whatever done. How to file a lawsuit/claim/judgement if a Sponsor bails. Posting a Sponsor is failing though you may still see they are "in business" other places online. A suspended Sponsor has to really make the super effort to come back - you don't see that at online auction sites where they can continue and you may be out of luck if something goes wrong.
To that end, do not forget to leave good feedback on this site. It will help you decide if parting with your money is going to be worth it.

Thanks Justin. Now quit replying for the sake of just replying.
Matt D, you are correct that "ls1tech isn't hurting for money". But, keep in mind that this site is a well-run business and it is because of our successful policy and management that your statement is correct. If we allowed non-sponsors to pimp their parts here, we would be hurting for money since we would have no site sponsors and no website would exist.
Our rates here are very inexpensive compared to the advertising exposure, that is why we do not tolerate non-sponsor stuff at all. Imagine if you were a magazine publisher and caught someone stuffing sales sheets in every magazine as it was placed on the news stand. That **** wouldn't fly either, would it?

Is that a wise-*** remark, or are you just clueless? Servers aren't free, and you should see the bill on the bandwidth this site generates. It also takes quite a bit of time invoicing over 100+ vendors and making sure they pay on time. We also have to manage the servers, contact vendors, help with disputes, keep financial records and tax records, manage day to day forum issues, keep the software and licenses updated, pay for advertising, business trips, etc...
Just kidding. The site runs all by itself, and everyone pays on time

It is a free world, but this site is privately owned. We have all of the key players in the LSX industry here at your disposal, and we jump through hoops to attract even more of them to come hang out here to give us info and help our members with technical questions. Some of you guys may just see "a message board", but the behind the scenes activities and contacts are a daily operation to keep this site growing like it does. The main difference between this one and the other sites is that the owners actually have passion for the subject and promote the LSX platform in all aspects. We are deeply involved in parts testing, market surveys for manufacturers, writing for LSX related magazines, etc..
And yes, this site is a business. We generate income, we pay bills, we pay salaries, and we pay taxes. It is an LLC. If this were just all fun and games, a site this big wouldn't exist. We deal with the serious side of things so you guys can enjoy the fun side.

Burnzilla, read the FIRST post in this thread about 10 times. If you can't understand what is written, I can't simplify it any further for you. You CAN discuss things here, but do NOT mention things we asked. It isn't censorship, it is preventing a non-sponsor from getting free advertising on the busiest LSX site on the net. That advertising carries a value, which the sponsors here gladly pay. If we do not protect that right for them, then we lose sponsors. Do you think it was an accident that all those vendors signed on with us? No, it is because they know that we manage this site properly, and their advertising rights are protected here.
I just deleted about 10 replies in this thread. Some of you are IGNORANT if you are replying in THIS thread, defending ebay headers and comparing them to sponsor brands. Do it again, and you will get a Christmas vacation away from the site. I mean really, how dumb can you be to come in THIS particular thread and defend ebay headers and compare them with sponsoring brands???

My friends run their site via moderaters contributing to the server cost. $10 bucks to server costs and the moderator gets to act like he owns the place, mostly because they partly do.
The difference is one counts as a business and pays taxes and ones works for a profit while the other simply pays to run a itself.
