Just a simple question. I think i'm going to pick up a snow stage 2 meth inj. kit but was wondering what you do for the meth. How do you guys buy it? What do you buy exactly? And where are you buying it?

Also, are most of you running just straight meth or a mix?

Straight 100% methanol on my Alkycontrol. I'm going through a bit more methanol than I thought I would, but at $4.50 a gallon it's not too bad. The stuff really works, though... my tuner has my A/F rock steady at 11.5 with the methanol and I've logged IAT's 35+ degrees F below ambient.

I buy the methanol at a race fuel store; I've heard that sometimes you can track some down at a paint supply store. If nothing else, you could perhaps contact a scientific supply company like Fisher Scientific and have them ship to you.

doesnt Sno Performance sell it in jugs or is that something else? **edit** the Boost Juice they sell is 49%meth and 51% water, i guess you could run that unless you want just straight meth

I run the snow kit on my gt. Works pretty good and its simple. I run a 70/30 mix meth and water. sometimes maybe less or more...when i get lazy. I just buy a couple gallons from the local speed shop. I think the brand is vp.

Try local lubricant/oil supply places too. I bought my 55gal barrel from Emerson Oil here in Rochester. I also run 100% meth.

Just buy the blue washer fluid from Wal-mart and 1 bottle of heet in the camping section.

i think i want to run straight meth however. I think it was you JZ that i talked with late last week about ordering the Snow stage 2. I talked with the guy who is going to tune the car today and he recommended just straight 100% meth. I'm going to talk to my other buddy about the kit today and hopeuflly order that kit this week!

I found a place that sells chemicals, and asked them how much for a 55 galon drum of methanol. They told me I had to have a business license so they can take my info down, so I had my buddy that owns a shop do that. I believe it ended up costing around $240 delivered for 55 galons of it.

VP has a new m3 that is 3% oxygen. Its real easy to tune, and has of course a little more power.

FYI -

-20 degree WW fluid is 30% Meth (128 oz ~ 38.4 oz Meth @ 30%)
Heet (Yellow) is 99% Meth (12 oz ~ 12 oz of Meth@ 99%)

38.4 + 48 = 86.4 oz Meth / 128 + 48 = 176 oz fluid
86.4 / 176 x 100 = 49.1 % Meth

So, if you do the math (above), it actually takes 4 bottles of heet added to -20 degree WW fluid to get a 50 / 50 mix.

Now if you were up in the UP, where you can get stuff good to -60 degrees, that'd probably work straight out of the bottle!

LOL, I have a 54 gallon drum of VP Fuels Methanol in my shed, thats where I get mine. And I too run 100% meth. The car seams to like it!

Thread from the dead. I have since then bought VP as well. Going to run straight meth, the VP Racing M1 is what i have. My tank is filled and ready to roll, just need my darn turbos to stop leaking!
