Default Roll cage + gauge pod = conflict?

Hey all,

I am planning on getting a Procharger in the next six months or so, and I'm planning everything to a T right now. I drag race the car as often as I can, so it'll definitely need a roll cage when the time comes. However, I'm also going to need a lot of gauges. Do 6+ point cages interfere with the 2-3 gauge pods for the A-pillar?

If not, what brands do you recommend to avoid any conflicts? Anyone have pics? Thanks in advance!

Almost any 10 point cage will probrably interfere. So you'd have to remove the A-pillar pod and pick up some pods that are made to mount to roll cages. Autometer makes some.

anything that runs 9.99 or faster needs a 10pt, u can run a 6 pt till 10.00. run a 6pt and you can put your gauges anywhere. hope that helps

You can try to put them in your vents if you don't use the AC or heat. Look @ GMmuscle's n2o guage for example. Not too sure how amy new guages you'll need now, but it's another alternative I suppose?

I didn't notice he had a WS6, he can drop 2&5/8" gauges in his vents no problem. Looks cool too.

BTW: If you plan on pushing north of 550rwhp and your pretty serious about drag racing. Don't even bother with a 6 point, do it right and put a full cage in the car. I'm kicking my *** for not doing that.

I'm going to plan for 9's with the Procharger. I'm hoping to put down the other side of 700 before it's all said and done. It is, however, a street-strip car, so I'd like to keep the gauges looking relatively decent. That's why I was hoping to get the gauge pod.

I might ditch the A/C, but I'll definitely be keeping the heat at least for a good long while. That takes out the vents as possibilities. I guess I'll have to find gauges that mount to the roll cage or something else. Any other suggestions?

If you do plan to run as fast as a 9 sec pass then dont even plan for a 6 point roll bar....... a 10 point is a CAGE.
In a TA or WS6 the gauges look awsome in the vents...... here are mine.... and i love them.... i ditched the A/C but still have the heat.

I agree w/ Nasty. You can keep your heat, just don't run it on the face (obviously). I think the guages in the vents look sick, even on a camaro.

The only downside to that is..... you hit the pods getting in and out of the car......they get in the way......
