most guys just take the fenders off and drill the holes that way you wont risk them coming off, since they are heavier than the regular emblems. Just tape around the stock Z emblem that way you know exactly where it was and then place the emblem down mark where the holes are and drill.

i think you might want to drill the holes perfect to specifications, bc you dont want to shove them in there and then crack the fender or chip paint off.

i think i may just do the double sided tape. did you just grind off the studs on the back??? the way the studs are designed are for the older cars with metal fenders and were designed to be wedged in, but our car have plastic fenders and wont work the same i guess.

yeah.. all i did was take my die grinder and used a cut off wheel.. and cut them off flush... took about 1 min.. the metal is not hard. I dont know of anyone that has drilled holes into their fenders.

there is definitely no need to drill, just use the 3m tape and you wont have any worries at all

Dont drill into your car man, theres no going back after you do something like that. All I did was hacksaw the pins off the back and get some double sided tape, they stayed on my car just fine for 3 years through 2 chicago winters. It'll be fine. DONT drill your car.

I bought a cursive Chevrolet emblem off of a '57 Chevy, ground of the pins and used outdoor double sided tape to apply it and it worked great. No drilling required. I found that tape at Staples.

Do NOT drill into your car. What if you decide down the road you don't like them. Then you're screwed. Do what I did and dremel off the studs and then use 3M emblem tape. They will not come off, trust me.

cut the tabs off, grind smooth, and use some 3M double stick. You will feel much better that you did that if/when you ever decide to take them off.

yeah i thought about that because if i did the drilling (which i am not going to now) i would have to redo my flame job. i really dont want to do that! how did everyone get their existing emblems off??? drilling into my car would be like drilling into a national monument!

Dear GOD don't drill them on!!! I cut the back of mine off with a god old hacksaw. Took like 2 mins then bought 3m tape from NAPA for like $2. just use a razor blade and cut the strips smaller so they don't stand out. Then you have to step on the emblems a little bit to get them to contour to the car fender. I simply stepped on them a couple times on the garage floor and they fit perfect. I learned that trick from a member on here. Getting the old emblems off was the biggest PITA!

Are you referring to the fact that they are curved from top to bottom? I was wondering if my parents got me the wrong ones since I haven't heard anyone mention them being curved a little, but my 69 emblems are. So I need to flatten it out some in order to fit them? Didn't want to cut the tabs off if they got the wrong ones before finding out.

They are curved a tiny bit. I didnt even bother trying to flatten them and Im not sure there is a way. Once they were on they looked fine, and you can not tell they are curved. And no, they never fell off, they were on my car for 3 years before I took them off and they were a bitch to take back off too.
