We are now considering changing up the cage a bit. There is a possibility we will install a 4-link style Air Ride system into the car which will require removing additional flooring behind the main hoop. One shot shows how we would re-do the cage for this, and then the 4-bar would connect to the rear of the cage. I believe we are now going to use carbon fiber tubs in the rear.

12-06-06 Update:
Jeff (the owner) has decided to "pass" on the air bags. We are going to do a traditional 4-link in the car with QA1 coil-overs and a wishbone to locate everything. We will also be doing a complete fab 9-inch for the car with back brace.

Not much happening lately, awaiting parts on order. Here is some work going on in the floor to eliminate the "hump"

Seat mounts for this car a fairly involved and labor intensive. Jeff wants the seats hard mounted and he actually traveled 7 hours to make sure the location is just right.
Whitey went to work making the custom seat mounts for the carbon Momo seats. This first image shows how the floor and cage mounts work. Whitey made steel blanks for the floor, then made holes in the center and added the threaded nuts to the blanks. These blanks were then positioned and welded to the transmission tunnel for the inner mounts.
The outer mounts were made by drilling out holes in the bars and welding steel inserts into the cage that were made by our machinist Willy.
The photo shows the outer mount bolted to the seat. The inner mount looks similar.

The drivers side quarter is now close to finished, it just needs the body line added. The rear has been fitted and Denny and myself have been looking over the car with Jeff's needs in mind. The rear axle may depart slightly in the mounting dept from the norm in order to fill the needs of the whole car build.
Kurt
PS: Todd was the man on pictures and he is gone, I will do my best to update the post regularly.
A couple more recent pictures from the build. Both quarters are on the car although they still will get some finish work before they are off to paint.
Kurt
Here is a couple shots with a MT drag radial tire in the wheelwell for fitting the tubs. One side is done for internal tub fitment. Denny has also been working on the surface of the quarter panel that was added to get some of the waves from the english wheel out. It is hard to see in pictures, but the surface quality is as good or better then OEM now. The car may need to be raised from the pictured height to get ground clearance for the body extension.
Kurt
A couple pictures of progress on the 93 Camaro project.
The rear axle housing is braced and getting ready to be cut to final width.
The PS carbon tub is fitted, and the main interior rear tin is in. Jeff was here today to see the car, and it looks like we will add more new tin work to make the appearance flow better in the hatch area.
Jeff also wants to keep the car low to the ground, so the factory skirting will probably be removed to aid in ground clearance.
Jeff chose the "Alumastar" wheel as his drag rims. These offer a 17 inch frontrunner type rim that will clear bigger brakes for road course use.
Kurt
The rear suspension is all in place, including the watts link to center the housing. Here are a few pics with the forward tin out. I should have more soon, I have been slacking!
Kurt
A couple shots of the tin going in.

The axles from Strange are now in the car so she rolls! Still needs the brake rotors and calipers installed, but it looks good sitting on its new wheels. The rear tin is done except for paint work.
I really like the looks of this car with the wide tires, it looks like its ready to pounce on something....
Kurt
Just finishing up the dual ex system for the car. It is hidden from view, and dumps down back at the bumper.
The car has been sitting for a bit, and has taken another turn. Jeff has a few new ideas, and she is back on the plate getting a new front suspension with a Corvette flair.
I attached a few pics with the drag radial tire/rim package on the rear to show that look.
Kurt
The car has met the plasma cutter in the front and is waiting for some new suspension parts to keep going. A few pictures of the car today.
Kurt
The front cowl area is getting closed out. You can see in one picture the end of the 3/8 tube that the fab guy (Mike) works off of to make the shape. The metal finish looks great in person, hope the pictures help.
Soon the parts for the front Corvette suspension will all be here, and that work will start.
Kurt
The Corvette control arms are here and the fitment is underway. The engine and trans has been raised up so the car can get lower, this has caused a re-work of the floor to clear the trans and driveshaft in the new location. the upper control arm mounts are in process now. This car is going to be very cool when done!
