There is a plethora of info about this a few clicks away. The search button can help you find it.

Good luck.

The fact that you are asking means that you should probably watch someone do this before you attack it. Be careful if you decide to do it. Tear heads down and just clean up casting for starters. This will make a decent difference.

I would probably get it done professionally unless you are going to take them for flow testing and touch ups afterwards.

Best piece of advice I can give you..........You HAVE to get a junk head or two to practice on first. The main areas you need to focus are the rocker arm boss in the intake, blending the valve guide areas on both sides, and blending the bowls into their respective seats. If you can do those things pretty well, you will pick up about 20whp with a cam. The rest of the tricks come in pushing out the curved and runner walls, valve jobs, valves, and little knick knacks. Those are all things you can learn through trial and error on a flow bench, but it takes a good while. If you have any specific questions, shoot me a pm.
