Default AC system on 98 Ls1 swap

Anybody have the AC wiring figured out on a 98 LS1?

I just finished my swap, fired right up, damn I was edgy for a bit, lots of wires but in all the FAQ's and searches I did people disregard the AC system all together.

I have a plug that goes into the cabin that was not used at all, I assume it has something to do with AC.

thanks,

That's going to be the A/C request wire more than likely. Hook it to a switch to request the PCM to turn on the compressor.

Yours shouldn't be too terribly tough, I hacked and whacked an entire LS1 A/C system into a Mustang - fiberglassing up the heater box under the dash and everything

There should be three connectors going inside the car. The blue connector is the one that has the A/C request wire, and its the green wire on that blue connector. Those three connectors are full of useful stuff - park/neutral switch, brake pedal switch, VSS, serial data, SES light wire, etc. I mapped out the ones relevant to my conversion so I can help you with at least those if you need 'em.

I got those all hooked up

but I have 4 connectors going inside the three standard ones I have hooked up and there was a 4th which I thought was additional AC stuff. I'll have to snap a pic.

thanks,

Its a 98 LS1 engine harness?? Yeah, snap a pic and I'll see if it matches mine. If nothing else, just backtrace the wire from the PCM.

here is a shitty pic but you get the idea, the three normal connectors are to the right, the one taped to the left is the left over one.

Me. I posted how I did it on the torquecentral.com rx-7 swap forum. It is not hard, but there are a number of wires taht need to be addressed. The hardest part is finding the correct fitting for the LS1's refregerant pressure sensor, and I posted about that on this forum.
