Default Info on Swapping LSx into 93-97 Fbodies?

Search keeps crapping out right now, just trying to find some links or how to's on doing such a task.

Putting an LSx into an 93'-97 LT1 body.

From what ive been thinking, not reasearching it would take:

Harness/Sensors
PCM
K-member
Tranny

Does anybody have any good websites for such a swap, or any info for that matter.

Tony.

you don't need to use the gas tank if you use a 1997 corvette rail.

the trick i did requires the use of a 99+vette fuel filter and some line rerouting. otherwise you can use the deadhead rails. like i did.

pretty straight forward, you can find all the information you need on www.shbox.com and on the FAQ sticky above.

only blind spot is the AC on the ls1 side... still decoding that one.

I set up a custom fuel system on mine so I didn't have to mess with any of that other stuff.

eh, id assume that you would have a complete LS1 wrecked car to work from and you have the rear end with the bigger brakes sitting there so why not just put it on there too.

LT1 rear would work though

"Looking to be the Quickest and Fastest LT1 in Idaho."

What happened to that ^^ idea? Or are you doing this to a different ride?

I'm doing an LS1 swap, and currently putting a built 346 together for it. You'll need the steering rack, along with the connecting shaft from the LS1. You can re-use the steering shaft from the LT1, but the steering wheel will be off. Probably not a big deal if it's a track car.

Speartech can modify your LS1 engine harness to fit the LT1 chassis for a mear 500 bones.

Tony.
You could save yourself 500/bones and do the wiring yourself.

I'll, hopefully, be tackling my wiring sometime this winter depending on my schedule with school etc..

Good luck with your decision/project.

Also be prepared to deal with all the haters, "I don't understand why people do that when you can just save your money and buy an LS1 car".

I am doing the same swap myself into a '93. I am trying to find an LS1 parts car to simplify things...I'm afraid the little missing bolts/accessories etc I'd need just buying an engine outright would nickel and dime me to death. So much easier if you have the whole car sitting in front of you to pick parts off of.

Why do you need the LS1 steering rack?

The angle from the steering shaft comes into the rack differently on the LS1 cars.

The LT1 to LS1 haters thing is probly the worst to think about.

Considering there arent many Daily driven 9 second LT1s out there, but in the LSx world they are all over the place.

Im still on the fence.

Wouldn't be easier to buy an ls1 and swap front ends?
