Default How you feel about the hooker catback.

For me, i want (along with reasonable performance increase) a deep, throaty, yet civilized exhaust tone. Nothing too loud. Hooker seems to be it. The question now is, are they any good? Also, what's the difference between the Hooker Comp, super comp and comp tech headers?

I have heard it before and think it is much too QUIET. [unless with cutout and being cammed]

its one of the better flowing catbacks without being too loud. magnaflow is also a free flowing catback that has a tame tone.

I have it installed on my LT1 without headers. I have also heard it on a cammed LT1 with LT's. The third Hooker car I heard was an LS1 SS with Pacesetters and stock cam.

It definately has a beautiful tone to it, but the LS1 with headers is around the same volume as my LT1 now. It was quieter than I would like, but then again I am contemplating TD's...so take that with a grain of salt.

On the cammed and LT'd LT1 it sounds just about perfect to me. Moderate volume with a gorgeous muscle-car growl then a decent roar at WOT.

The only thing I would think about running instead is Magnaflow as far as cat-backs go. But I found the Hooker at Byunspeed (sponser) for 100 dollars less. Since there won't be more than 2 or 3 horses difference in most cat-backs the money was the deciding factor in that choice because they both sound great to me.

The Hooker is also a good race catback. You can easily unbolt the muffler and remove it for track use. Just don't let it hit you in the head.

A friend has it on his car with Pacesetters and ORY. It is much quieter than my stock manifolds/cats car w/GMMG. It sounds really good at WOT, but is quiet for general driving - a combo that works really well for some folks.

I love my Hooker... Catback. It is kinda quiet - until you get into to it. LT's and an ORY here

I think it is the best sounding catback around and at a great price. I have the full Hooker setup (LTs, ORY and Catback) through a CME. Everyone loves the sound of it. Now if you are after the "pissing the neighbors off, having the cops in the next county here your exhaust" loud, then the Hooker catback is not for you.

I've noticed the more WOT runs I 've done since my Hooker catback was installed this July has gotten a lot louder. Everyone says it's a quiet exhaust and at idle it is but as soon as I step on it...it's loud to me but then again I'm getting to be an old fart.

i have the hooker also and it is sort of mellow but you can't ask alot out of a single 3" out the back.it does flow great and sounds sweet at wot but if you are wanting a very deep sound you better look elsewhere.
