Default LS1 stock crank ?

Hey All,

I tried to search for this answer, but wasn't successful... Does anyone know how much horsepower a stock LS1 crank can handle? I've heard #'s anywheres from 700 - 1200 hp!!!

I'm looking to do a 346/7 forged bottom-end on my Vette with a D1-SC blower (AFR 205's 66cc) we're probably going to see 600-650 rwhp, future mods may take the motor to over 800hp.

Anyone know how much one of these stock cranks can take? Any advice about parts selection for the forged motor are welcomed.

Thanks!!

You'll probably get jumped all over on here for not searching through the site for this information, but I'll help you out a little. With your power levels, the stock crank should be all you need. It has been proven time and again in forced induction cars.

Go poke around in the forced induction section. You might think that your power goals are pretty high (and maybe why you asked this question), but there are lots of people in that section that put down some really nasty numbers.

I'm sure someone would pick that up in the for sale section on here...be careful though. There are some vultures that fly around in there...I've only tried to sell one thing on here, and wasn't too happy with the people that showed up in my thread that thought I was asking too much for what I was selling, and telling me I had a bad attitude for telling them they didn't know a damn thing about what I had.
