Comparison between Pacesetters and Edelbrock long tube headers
Hello everybody, i am a new member here. I have a 94 twin turbo Supra and i just recently bought a 00 Camaro SS. I did alot of research on ls1tech about pacesetters and other long tube headers that are comparable in cost. I finally decided to buy both the pacesetters and the Edelbrock merge collector slip-on long tubes. I chose the Edelbrocks because they were just a few bucks more than the pacesetters but looked ALOT more promising in terms of power gains. People seem to be biased when it comes to affordable long tubes beacause of the tried and true pacesetters. for a couple dollars more you can have a way better header (edelbrock) in my opinion. i decided to buy both and compare them. I have taken some pics of both sets so you can see for yourself. Enjoy.
don't mind the extra copper sealant i put on the slip-on collector..
and here are the cars. so far i like the camaro alot!

Wow! Way to step it up. I take it you'll be sending the Pacesetters back? That tube is WAY too far into the primary, never seen that before. Edelbrocks look good, but I don't like the slip on collectors.
Report back when you get them installed and tell us how that goes.

Damn, the difference looks like night and day. Those Edelbrocks look all beefy and clean. The Pacesetters look pretty puny sitting next to them. Thanks for the comparison, and nice collection of cars there.

I run the edelbrock race ones with the slip ons. I didn't take any precaustions to help extra seal on the slip on collectors. they do leak just a tad, not TOO noticable. I'll get it taken care of.
I got mine from one of those 2 big warehouse distributors. They were more of a yellow catalog I think, not of the "mountain" variety.

3/8" Flange...1-3/4" stepped to 1-7/8" tubing ....not sure I/Diameter. ...I didn't get the slip fit---don't like that at all. Mine are welded.

But there probably wouldn't be much gain on stock cubes.
