Question Need your advice Chevelle 71

Hi Everyone

I finally buy a used LQ4 Engine from a pick-up truck.

Now i want to install this in my 71 Chevelle.

Which model of Engine/Tranny Mount should i use

I made my own BRP style and converted my stock th350 trans crossmember. There are a few Chevelles around here search.

i think you will find other threads with conversions for you rcar if you do a search. there are quite a few modification to do.

I like Stealth did.. used BRP Style mounts. I have 99 LS1 and a Viper T56 in my 71 Malibu.

Any of the LSx will work, You will just have to work out the Oil Pan and other fun stuff to make all fit and work. Just seach the thread for the A-Body swaps. The G-Body swap are also good info as they are very simular.

You can follow my project as it is almost done and is just about back on the street with a few more items to complete before is is completely road ready.

Another thing to consider as well is the type of old school sbc mounts you use because some are a bit taller than others.

Yes.. two type are available. a) Short and wide, b) Tall and narrow.

Also the Frame mounts adds another variable.. with a combination of the engine mounts, Adapter plate and frame mount.. you can many different engine heights which will either help you or be a problem in swapping in your engine.
