Default Giant Puddle = Camaro Unhappy

Alright so i was driving back to my school on friday night in the princeton area. There was a huge rainstorm and it downpoured and flooded very quickly. I hit a puddle going about 30 mph on a side street. It was extremly deep and when i hit it, the water splashed way up in the air over my roof. i rolled it in neutral to the end of the street, starting to make a right turn at the stop sign. The car seemed like it was in 6th gear i had the gas pinned to the floor and it wasnt going anywhere really kinda like a honda civic. Then sporadically it would go back to normal again for a split second, then off. Im thinking that the water blew up into the engine bay and soaked a plug or shorted out a wire? So possibly the car is only driving on a few cylinders? Whats weird is that when i first start the car today as soon as i start driving it bogs and everything for the first 5 minutes of going. Then out of nowhere it comes alive again but still doesnt feel like its running on all 8. Any ideas on what i should do just change the plugs and wires? thanks guys

rofl.. there is no way in hell water could have gotten into the plugs or wire.. **** dont make sense. you must have bad o2 sensor extension. get a new one from here.

oh hell lol. I thought your mod list had that CAI, ok so water is out of the question it was just my lazy *** half-way reading the list. if it was the deep of water the 02 thing does sound like a potential problem though

ok i dont get it? Do you think the front o2 sensor got shorted out on the headers then? Something gauranteed got wet because the incident happened right after the puddle.

O2's maybe if it took a while to start getting doggy. But it wouldn't have been an instant change. It takes a min or so to change trim cells.

Let it dry out a day or two and I bet the problem will fix itself.

The same thing happen to me about 2 years ago. Something shot out of the engine and left a nice hole in the block. Sad thing is GM had to replace the engine.

I am thinking it he threw a rod due to hydrolock he would know by now though.

Least you got a new engine though 2_wacko. Better than getting a revamped one.

The car starts and idles. When it starts to get going it feels like its in 6th cause its got no power. Isn't it possible i could have gotten water in a wire and shorted it?

no i think its the spark plug wires that could possibly got shorted. I dunno if the 02 sensors shorted because it starts and idles perfect as it did before. then once i start driving it drives like a dog then kicks in to somewhat normal a few minutes after that.

trust me. it happened to me before. itz your o2 sensors extensions. not your spark plugs wires. double check your spark plug wires and if itz loose then itz the plug wires if not then itz your 02 sensor extensions..

go underneath your car and CHECK~!

I agree with TX_SS, my O2's started causing issues (rough idle, SES codes, Random Misfiring) after I drove it in Tropical Storm Ernesto, and then they would short out whenever it got humid ar rained out, and I replaced them and have not had a problem since then.

well i started the car after leaving it sitting for a week. Started up and drove basically fine. The bogging is gone which it was doing before!!!!! maybe it just needed to dry out?

It is NOT your spark plug wires, my car has the same sypmtoms with the o2 sensors ever since I got longtubes. I'm going to put Liquid electrical tape on them today to see if it helps.
