LS6 cam into 5.3 s-10 project?
I am working on either a 5.3 or a 6.0 into a daily driver 96' ext cab s-10 pickup. I was going to go ahead and do the ls6 oil pump while I am in there. Would the ls6 cam and springs be a reasonable improvement over the stocker cam in either engine or should I look to the aftermarket. I am still after gas mileage and reliability. The truck is an auto w 4:10's

im running a gm LS1 hot cam in my 5.3 s-10, idle is rough, but it runs great from 3000-6800rpm
i had this combo for a year now and i just picked up a 6.0 so im going to swap my ported 241 heads and hot cam over to the 6.0 and try this out

Yeah I was seriously thinking about the ls6 cam. I had an lt4 hotcam in my bird before I sold it and loved it. I was thinking about the ls hotcam kit. But, I want to keep the sleeper effect working. I could not sneak up on anyone in the firebird. Just a ten year old stock s-10 with duals nothing to worry about Mr. Mustang
