Question 383

should i go all forged, or cast with my 383 there is about 500 dollars difference im going with j e forged pistons

I would say go forged if you can. Kinda depends on what your goals are though.

Forged is always better, plans changem foundation stays the same. I picked SRP piston over JE since I ran high comp. I dont plan on running boost, you get JE because they have less silicone content vs SRP, if you get detonation on a high silcon piston it could shatter.

i would like to break into the high 6s tony were can i get a good cam at they say my cc-306 will be 2 small for a 383

I tuned a 383 (385) LT1 with the CC306 last year. Put down 432rwhp 468 rwtq. That cam works pretty good. That car belonged to TWS (Todd Smith). He ran 11.30's n/a.

A custom grind cam is always better but for a shelf cam the CC306 rocks!

comp cams are really good when it comes to custom grinds. go to there website and get their number. give them a call and give the the specs of your motor and they will custom grind you a cam that works perfectley.
