Default oil consumption

just built my first motor. put it in, everything is good except it uses a quart of oil every 100 miles or so.
it has 700 miles on it now and i'm using valvoline 5w-30.

there is a small leak coming from the bellhousing area, but not enough to drop onto the ground.
no smoke unless i get on it, but then not a whole lot.

i used total seal gapless top rings, which were kinda tight. i'm going to do a compression check when i get a chance.

any other ideas or suggestions?

i don't want to believe it's burning that much oil, but with no major leaks, it appears that way.

I was worried about the samething until... i pulled the intake off and found the problem.

My PCV system is sucking it all back in through the intake. It's so much that i could see a puddle of oil on top of some of my valves. Literally driped off my intake.

So i just got my ls6 style valley cover and im waiting on my catch can

did it work for you twisted ta?

i was scared i had ring problems but a compression test turned out good.

just got around to pulling my intake off and it is coated with oil.
so it looks like i'm having the same mysterious problem as some other.
