Abandoned vehicle laws?
so i have been living in my neighborhood for 6 months and there has always been this black Z28 sitting here. i have been told by a couple people that you can take possesion of an abandoned vehicle after a certain anount of time. the car doesent have any plates on it and hasnt been touched since i have lived here. anyone know anything about how you can go about taking possesion?

I would think you would have to take the advice from above with the vin check. It could be stolen or used in commision of a crime. But if i remember correctly if it was parked on your property for a determined amount of time you could take ownership. If it is not on your property then you cant take ownership. You would have to contact local police department and complain about an abandoned vehicle and talk to them, depending on where you are they will either tow it to police impound and sell it at an auction or try to locate ownership. Or you could try to locate the owner and offer to take it before they impound it. Or just take the engine out one weekend and push it back in place then file a complaint about it sitting there then they will tow it concealing the evidence of your motor removal. Im not giving you any advice or encouragement on how to break the law or anything but just speaking hypotheticaly.
