PCM Diagnostics & Tuning - SHot in thr Dark - 99 Silverado PCM reprogram

OK - I know this is Not the right place But here goes.

My Buddy needs to get his PCM reprogramed brcause he removed the theft lock/radio thing. He was asking me if he could Bring Just the pcm to the dealership or did he have to toe the whole truck over there? I have No clue, Do any of yu guys know. Help me out so I can pass the info along to my Bud.

We need a little more clearer information. Pcm has nothing to do with radio functions on that truck. Are you sure you do not mean passlock delete. If that's the case nothing other than a custom tuning suite can turn off the passlock. All the tech 2 and gm reflash has the capability of doing is programming to the vin number of the vehicle and the tech2 assigns the correct calibrations based off of the VIN data.

So he removed the VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System). If so just follow 01WS6/tamu's advice.
