Go with the CCW... cheaper, and from what I understand, stronger too...

If you think CCWs are expensive, go price some HREs. You won't find many people with those...

no one makes a rim similar to either of these that is less than $800?

They're almost the same, and I'll gladly take a fikse wheel any day as my "lottery" wheel of choice :D

If you look on some of the sponsors sites you cant touch a hre for $800 no matter what the size. MSRP on sizes we would want like 18x11 in a 545r is $1600 a wheel. It says call for current discounts but i dont think their going to give you $500 off the price. That would still be $1000 a wheel. I pray everytime i buy a scratch or lottery ticket that i win to be able to afford thoes wheels.

Wheels $4500
Tires $2000
LOOK ON CAR PRICELESS

Per Wheel . . .

Yea, I was just trying to determine whether he was looking for a SET of wheels for under $800, which is pretty unrealistic. The question wasn't really clear. If, however, he's looking for something under $800 PER WHEEL then you can get CCW's for under $800/wheel.

Yup! And you can get FIKSE Classics, for less than that each.

Honestly after hearing all the shit about HRE lately, I would buy a Fikse, CCW, Kinesis, iForged or Forgedline over a HRE anyday. I still dont think HRE's are as stong as the wheels I named above.

Right now in the shop we have a black c5 vert with a chopped top that says skunkwerks all over it that has 19" and 20" HRE wheels with Michelin tires. it looks bad ass.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth from dealing with HRE regarding some custom work I wanted done by them on a set of 840R's. They were initially my first choice, but after dealing with two of their reps and getting the impression that they would be doing me a favor selling me a set of wheels for ~$7000, I thought better of it and went to CCW. I couldn't be happier with my choice either. I spent a third of what I would have with HRE, they were nice enough to work with me, and the wheels are awesome. I'll leave the HRE's for the smarter/better connected folks... (I do like their new 895R's a lot though).
