weather stripping hows you guy's weather stripping holding up?? i have an 02 and it seems like something is either growing on it or its corroding. in small blotches or circles its patching grey or flat black when they used to be shiney black. have any of you guys replaced it or know where to buy it at?

The grille is from Wings West, and I got the "SS" from GM I believe.

There are several things you can do to fix the leaks. You will need a water hose with no nozzle to do this (which means it's just a streaming flow of water). Run the water during both of these tests. A little water leakage with this giant flow of water will mean NO leakage during a rainstorm.
1. Adjust how the window hits the top (sometimes it doesn't line up straight and you can get leaks on the non-sealing side). The bolt is by the top of the door and closer to the sail panel. You can do this by pulling off the interior on the door (it's all one piece held in with clips and roughly 5-6 bolts).
2. Adjust the T-top (if so equipped).
3. If you can clearly see the weather-stripping is starting to crack and you can wipe the material off with your finger, it's time to replace the weather-stripping.

Now I know what you're talking about. I think mine has a little of that as well. I guess it's just age. Those glass pieces are a PITA to redo the stripping on, because you have to actually take the OFF of the car to do. Make sure whoever does it seals it right, otherwise the rain is going to be hitting you in the face.
