They are only good for changing the setting of your fans for 160* t-stat or changing the wheel/tire size and finding the codes your car is throwing out.

Other then that if you want a tune then find someone with HPtuners or EFIlive or LS1edit. Then pay them some money to tune your car.

Well the only experience I have is with the HPP3 and I hated it. It came with my car when I bought it.

I got terrible gas mileage. Somewhere about 10-12mpg without even getting on it.

I reset it (unloaded my vin) and sold that with a granatelli maf (that came on my car as well) for like $100 bucks on here after I got the car.

After a few days my car felt faster and I got better mpg without the HPP3 program and granatelli maf in it.

Part of the reason I would never reccomend a granatelli maf because I am sure that itself was the cause of my bad gas mileage and probably what killed one of my cats.

This was after I unloaded the HPP3.

No but I know of alot of people that do. Don't be so eager to get upset.

$300 bucks for a handheld tuner is about what you would pay someone to tune your car with a laptop.

Yeah but for $300 he can gain HP (from a good tune w/ someone on HPtuners) or he can spend $300 for something thats not as useful as a gameboy.

It is if you don't know what your doing. Its extremely expensive to get started on it.

But the benefits are endless. Especially if you know of others in your area that need tunes. It would pay for itself in no time.
