Default A good paint job does make a difference

I don't really know what to make of this TA/Firebird. Being a former owner of a 97 TA WS6, I like some aspects of it but then again it has an identity problem. Not real sure if it began life as a TA or just a plain Bird.

I didn't hear it run to be able to tell if it had a V8 or V6.

Ooph, that looks rough. Judging from the front bumper (seeming to be original), I' d say it was born a Firebird, but there is an outside chance it was born a Formula.

im going with trans am. rear hatch and bumper are more expensive than a front fascia and pos hood.

True, but it' s obvious that the hatch and rear bumpers were not installed when he originally sprayed the redneck paint job.

The only thing that wasn't black primer was the bumper.

Ahhh, from the pic, the hatch appears to have more of a shine. If so, it may be black primer, but it must have been sprayed at some other time.

maybe he can only afford to paint one section at a time? so he started with the back and is working his way forward? area behind the t-tops is primered too.

That's what you get for spending your paint job money on rims... You see that all too often on ricers (however, this guy might not have done that heh)

I went by where I saw it...and yup...it was there again. I looked at it more closely and the hatch/wing does not match the color of the rest of the body. It is black but the same shade as the primer. I am voting V6 poser on this one.

Time to sneaky-sneaky up to the VIN in the window and see what engine is in it. Odds are it isn't swapped and has the factory engine.

Yea, or check the speedo. I don' t think the V8 speedo will work on the V6 without recalibration, and that' s a lot of crap to deal with, when the V6 won' t hit those speeds anyway.

The front bumper is a FIREBIRD one, the trans am bumpers have the foglights on em and are slightly different. I am almost certain it is a firebird.

Jesh, you all act like a repaint and or change over happens over night. Some people cant afford to do it all at once.

On the LT1 birds they had a tall wing option on the early years to get the high level rear spoiler on the formula, I had a friend that had one on his 94 LT1 formula. But it has been years since I saw the car so I could be wrong on that.

Looks like the owner is trying to update the looks some, I dont like the LS1 ram air style hood o it, but hey its their car and they have a personal look they are going for. the car looks like it is using all GM ground effects and or parts, so I can fualt them on that. At least it doesnt have a 4ft tall wing on the back of it...Yet...

i really like that car, just needs a nice paint job, it looks to be in the process of a sweet transformation as funds permit, when done it would be better lookin than 90% of 93-97 firebirds i see around.
