383 LT4 New Cam Suggestions
I have an all forged 383 LT4, AFR heads, 1.6 rockers, GM carbed intake, and all the other goodies. Right now it has a LT4 Hot Cam in it because originally we were only going to run it on the street. Now its in a race only car and want a little more out of the motor.
Question is what new cam should we go with to get more out of it? Was thinking a Comp Cam 306 but do not know if it will clear since running the 1.6 rockers. Block and heads have NOT been deck so are all stock far as that, I just don’t know a lot about LT1/LT4 engines far as clearance issues (my brother built the motor and I ended up with it now).
Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

Or you can look at the GM847. Slightly bigger than the CC306. Specs are 234/242 .575/.595 lift with 1.6rr's on a 112 lsa. I'm going with this cam in my forged 355, also upgrading from my hotcam. But thats if you wanna go with an off the shelf cam. If I wasn't planning on changing my setup in the future I would go with a custom grind like they said.

Didnt want to go soild roller, engine will be going back into a weekend cruiser '67 Camaro when I get my race 406 SBC built. Less things I swap out now less have to change all back later.
