Unhappy Cam Dowel Pin Length
I just recently bought a used cc305 cam from a guy who had it installed on his '94 z28.

Since I have the vented opti, and he did not... Are the dowel pins going to be different lengths?

If so, do I take the cam to a machine shop and get the right size dowel pin?

Yea, that would probly be your best bet. I just went through the same thing a few weeks ago.
The local GM dealer couldn't find me one on their computers?

94 was a little input shaft in the center of the Cam, 95 had the Dowel pin on the Cam, if I remember right..

The 95-97 dowel pin will be longer than the 93-94 one.

The 95-97 dowel pin should be ~.65".

I just ground the pin till it measured up when putting the two cams together. (by having them face each other, end facing end.)

hey what would be the dowel pin full length so that the .65 can b exposed.
