Default Looking for opinions on my H/C combo

I know, another H/C combo question, but just checking myself here. I will be using Patriot stage II LS6 style head with 59cc chambers. I am somewhat undecided on a cam. My two current choices are the TR224 on 112 LSA (224/224 .563 .563 112 LSA) or the Texas Speed 228R (228/228 .588 .588 112 LSA). I'm thinking I wan't to stay below .600 lift for P to V clearance as well as the Patriot heads not flowing all that great above 0.600.

DCR numbers should be very close on both cams although I have only calculated the TR224 DCR.

I need all of your expert opinions on the cam choice. Also, feel free to suggest another cam. I am personally looking for power under the curve and not peak HP numbers, so keep that in mind. It seems both of the cams I am listing here are solid "power under the curve" performers.

Thanks in advance

Max lift has nothing to do with P to V clearance. Duration has more affect on it. Why would you be worried about P to V anyway? Id open up your cam options a little more.

how big a cam are you willing to put up with? Youve got fairly big flowing heads with small chambers, and the setup is screaming for a larger cam. If youre really looking to use a smaller cam, you can probably get away with a stage 1 head. Also, depending on your cam and gasket choice, youll probably have a lot of DCR. Just my opinion though.

I like the 228 option, maybe go with a 228/232 (I like that one).

here's a tip when thinking about ptv clearance:

imagine you're the piston. you are coming up to compress air.

with a high lift low duration like a 224 LSK lobe (.640ish), it's like "whoa, that valve is pretty close, am I.. am I going to HIT IT??!!! HEY VALVE YOU GOTTA MOVE! oh, WHEW! it's going down.. that was a close one. Look at that valve stay with me the whole way down! lol I'd own that valve.. chicken! haha

NOW, with a long duration low(er) lift lobe like a 248 with a .580ish lift.. it's like "hey check out that valve up there, it must be scared of me it's so far away haha.. well, maybe not, it's not closing.. um.. HEY VALVE YOU MIGHT WANT TO START CLOSING NOW.. (thinking to itself: **** I don't think it's going to close, that valve deaf or somtething?) valve.. hey valve.. VALVE!! (crap).. BRACE FOR IMPACT (piston closes it's eyes and grabs the rod)

hope that helped with understanding the lift vs duration involvement in ptv clearance.

I know I will have a lot of DCR, something like 8.8+ or so. Still safe with pump gas, but pushing it IMHO. what I may end up doing is installing it 2-4 degrees retarded. I guess my ultimate question is... I know I'm not the first to use these heads, so what cam do I want to pair up with it? This will be on a daily driven car mind you, so I want the setup to be safe. I would consider other heads, but I already have the heads.
