Alternator Removal ?
The battery is diconnected, the bolts are undone, and the alternator is loose, so we can skip all that stuff. Where are the electrical connections? And how do I get the alternator itself out, rotate it and move it forward towards the fans?

I beleive it's a 10mm bolt for the lead to the battery. The field wire plugs into the top (weatherpack style connector) and you really won't be able to unplug it till you have the alternator slightly out of the bracket because it's hard to get at. But be careful, that wire will rip right out of it's connector if you move the body of the alternator too much without unplugging it.
As for removing the unit from the car, you really just have to play with it some. It will eventually angle out, I can't recall exactly where I got pulled it through, but it wasn't that hard. I've only done it once on an LS1 and even that time it didn't take me long to manuver it out, just a minute or two.

Thanks for the post. I got all the connectors out right before I came in here to check this thread. Now the alternator has been turned upside down and sideways and is seems like both the fans and front sway bar are in the way. I'll keep jiggling.

Whew, got it. Took it out, cleaned it, took it to Advance to have it checked, and it has **** the bed. All because of a blown power steering pump. I love it all, I really do. Now all I have to do is try and keep the Eaton from grinding when it gets hot.
Thanks guys!
