wasnt expecting these numbers w/ gtech ok.. i gteched my 01 z28 in the summer and got 4.8sec 0-60 and 13.2 in the quarter with no traction, 100% humidity and 95* weather...
so since then ive done a few mods.. "race" pasesetter LT's, TSP ORY, msd 8.5mm wires, ngk tr55 plugs, ultra z hood, way better tires, and most importantly an awesome dyno/street tune from florida's best jeremy formato
so tonight i gteched it once again.. humidity??? and a beautiful 50* outside at run time... first run, on interstate was 5.7 0-60 and a 13.7 quarter mile (i had zero traction i mean none on the interstate and shut down early since the crappy trac.) keep in mind i was cutting 4.8 and 13.2's before mods listed above and in the worst possible weather besides rain...thats alomst a full sec. slower in the 0-60 and a half of a second in the quarter (so i know its running stronger uptop if it could take back .5 after the 0-60 and shutting down early)
so i go to another road (empty of course) and make another run.. this time i was much more pleased with the results... perfect launch, no spin at all.. then i pull over to check the results and i was in disbeliefe... my new times were 0-60 4.27 and 12.27 in the quarter
now i have a few questions
is it even possible for a full bolt on to even run low 12's?
did i actually drop a full second from above mods w/ good trac. awesome weather and the tune?
man i need to go to the track and find out for real...

g-techs are nice for ballpark, but I would never consider it to be exact. you also have to be sure the road is 100% evenly FLAT. GMHTP did a comparison one day with the g-tech, a radar gun, and the track traps all calculating the same runs. The radar gun and traps were within a tenth and 1 mph, but the g-tech was off by as much as 4 tenths and 4 mph iirc. Use it on the same stretch of road to judge consistancy when changing mods.

G tech is a waste of money, ALL my experience with is that its crap, by the way its tilted can give better times, I remember my friend had it in his moms civic and it showed it running like 9's in the quarter, only one way to find out, go to the track get some real times....

gtech is like a dyno, its only usefull if you test on the same road in the same conditions, anything beyond that is null and void. With a dyno, the numbers mean **** unless you have a baseline on that same dyno.

I have a GTech but its the Beltronics brand and took it to the track with me one time... Both runs I did with it were withing 1/100 of a second....
But I can see why it may not be so accurate on the street... It may be hard to tell if the street is level or even might have a slight bend.
