Default Should I Yank it?

Well I have 180cc A.I. heads & cam, pace mids, 11.3-1 CR, forged internals,
3.42 gears, A4, right now I have the Hughes Torque Converter 2200-2500 stall, the car runs strong and at the 1/8 mile I did a 8.8 @80mph sense then I have put in a 160 stat, freed up the Exhaust, and gotten bigger injectors so it runs alittle better. well my front Planetary gear broke so I'm redoing my tranny and I was wondering if I should put a higher Stall
I like the Yank SS3600 and was wondering what kind of gains would I notice?
plus would it only effect my launch?
Thanks guys.

I had a 2400-2800 stall and i could only cut a 1.8 60' on stock suspension...i have heard of some cutting 1.6's easy deapending on tires with that size TC. So did you run the 8.8 with the H/C package? just curious?

Go with the Yank SS3600. I went with the 3200 and I love it but if I could do it again the 3600 would have been better performance wise.

3600 is your best bet. Ive turned 1.6 60ft N/A with 2.73's out back. and 1.5's on spray.

stock I did a 9.45 @ 75mph
H/C 8.8@80 mph I think my 60' was 1.9

But it was running hot and had my Rad cleaned and the motor bearly had a 1000miles
sense then it does feel quicker, once my tranny is finished i'm hitting the track and have an update on times.

I think a converter upgrade would be worthwhile Yank is definetely good but consider Edge as well, lacks a billet cover so you can save a few bucks.
Best 60ft for me sofar on the Edge 3400 with 3.73s and 27" QTPs is 1.614 with a full interior Caprice. I did pull the swaybars for weight transfer but that is all the lightening done so I would guess the raceweight that day was just under 4200lbs with me.
I am not saying the Yank wont do that for you, I think they are very good converters too just saying I think you can get a comparable product for $200 less.

i have a hughes 3000rpm stall and the best 60ft i had was 1.71 but that was with Lt's, 3.23's, stall, et streets and skinnies up front. pretty sure i could have cut faster 60ft's but i never had a chance to run full boltons or with the cam on any sticky tires. its a good stall but since you are looking to by another i would get the yank if you got the $$$ or get the Edge like was mentioned. im gonna get a 3800 stall soon and im also looking for some options. good luck

My car with a 750rpm hot in gear idle pulls on the brakes more than my wife's bone stock '03 Impala. That is the best way I know to describe how tight this converter is at low/no throttle it drives very well, I would not go so far as to say it drives like the 1650 stock GM truck converter I had in the past but it drives better than a 2600 Level 10 I briefly had.

I honestly even use it to tow a small boat at times, the wife drives it on occassion etc, I am very happy with it.
