Hey let me know if how it fits. I'm interested in knowing the proper part number.

P.S. How's the TR230 cam treating you?

It's pretty awesome. It sounds great and definitely woke my car up. I drive my car daily and don't have any problems

The oil filter part # listed above was correct. I held it next to my K&N 2006 and it is the same size. the K&N is heavier (probably cuz of the nut) and the top looks a little different. There are 5 holes on the top of the napa filter and they are big. On the k&n, there are 6 small holes. I imagine they are pretty similar & the napa gold is 5 bucks cheaper

So how much does that make the Napa Gold filter?

Is the K&N 2006 longer then the stock filter? How's the clearance, if it is longer? I use a K&N oil filter but don't remember the number, and it's the same length as the stock.

FYI: The WIX direct X-ref to the K&N 2006 is the 51045 which would be the Napa 1045, same filter. See it here: http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlook...asp?Part=51045 The WIX filters are available through AMSOIL.

The Long AMSOIL filter for comparison would be the EaO64 and this is what I run on my little 5.3 Silvy. The recommended car size is the shorter EaO32.

i know the napa 1042 & the k&n 1007 is the stock length. I got the 1522 because i went on k&ns website & looked up a truck that uses the k&n 2006, then I entered it in on the napas site and right above the k&n2006 was the napa gold 1522.

i've had no problem with the long filter since i got my car 5 years ago & i've driven over some strange things. A guy ran into me a few weeks ago & my car flew up on the curb. I looked at it on a lift at the body shop a few days later and my engine crossmember was horribly dented but my oil filter was still fine! My headers & exhaust pipes sit lower than the filter also

Also, if you use that link to wix's site but enter in 1522 instead of 1045, you get the same thing only the 1522 has an anti-drainback valve and micro rating of 15 compared to the 1045's 25 rating

http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlook...asp?Part=51522

i think i'll stick with my napa 1522 instead of exchanging it for the 1045
